Emulsion and Polymerization DISPERSING AGENTS

EFKA FA 4600

Highly concentrated solution of surface-active anionic compounds (larutan pekat senyawa anionik aktif-permukaan)

Brief description

Anti-settling agent (non-aqueous coating systems) based on Highly concentrated solution of surface-active anionic compounds (larutan pekat senyawa anionik aktif-permukaan), functioning as prevents pigment settling and agglomeration — including high-density pigments — so no hard sediment forms that is difficult to re-stir in alkyd paint (short/medium/long oil), urethane alkyd and styrenated alkyd, low-viscosity wash primer and dipping paint, and nitrocellulose lacquer and white-spirit-based decorative paint formulations. Available in Solvent n-butanol/water; density 20°C ~1.025 g/cm³; refractive index 20°C ~1.413; pH (10% solution) 6 specification.

Applications & benefits

Works by adsorbing onto the pigment surface and imparting a uniform electrostatic charge, preventing re-agglomeration
Effective across a wide solvent polarity range — from polar nitrocellulose lacquer to non-polar white spirit
Can be added at any production stage, before or after grinding
Does not reduce gloss, flow, drying properties, adhesion, or water resistance of the finished paint
Available from PT Bahtera Adi Jaya's local stock, with shorter lead times than direct import.
Backed by complete technical documentation (COA, MSDS/SDS) and formulation support from our technical sales team.

Frequently asked questions
What is EFKA FA 4600 and what is it used for?

What is the recommended dosage for EFKA FA 4600 in formulations?

The use level commonly referenced in the product's technical documents is 0.1–0.7% of finished paint, depending on binder — e.g. alkyd 0.2–0.6%; alkyd/amino 0.1–0.4%; nitrocellulose 0.1–0.5%; wash primer 0.2–0.5%; acrylic 0.1–0.3%. The final dosage still depends on the formulation system, so small-scale trials are recommended before mass production.

Are COA, MSDS, and technical support documentation available?

Yes. Every shipment is accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (COA) and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS/SDS) matching the production batch. For other regulatory documents (e.g. halal certification or special specifications), please contact our sales team.
